
(Part-Time) Golf Course Maintenance Specialist

Pay Rate
$16.17 - $22.25 per hour DOQ (up to 1,500 hours per year). Eligible part‑time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Click here for details.
General Statement of Duties Work activities in this position primarily involve chemical and fertilizer application and the general knowledge of golf course maintenance.
Typical Duties Employees in this classification will perform one or more of the following:

May be a crew leader
Knowledge of pesticides, fungicides of turf maintenance (Pesticide Certification Required)
Operates irrigation system
Operates all turf equipment to mow greens fairways and rough
Operates a weed whip
Operates trucks, tractors and loaders
Performs cup placement on greens
Maintains golf car fleet
Performs golf range maintenance
Keeps buildings and grounds clean
Paints buildings and signs
Minimum Qualifications
Certified pesticide applicator in the State of Michigan (Required to qualify)
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Ability to operate push/power driven mowers, trucks, tractors and heavy equipment
Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands
Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain
Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations
Ability to get along with co‑workers, supervisors, and park visitors
Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays
Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs
Ability to perform essential duties
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
