CEI is seeking an experienced
Power and Controls Designer
with 10+ years of experience in developing electrical and instrumentation design packages. The ideal candidate will interface with engineers, project managers, and clients to produce drawing sets and technical documentation that support projects across the water/wastewater, mining, and industrial markets.
At CEI, our designers are a critical part of delivering complete EI&C packages. They develop the drawings and documentation that drive construction, programming, and integration work in the field. Typical projects may be a lift station upgrade, pumping projects that need to be powered or controlled, power studies for various facilities etc.

Responsibilities and Duties
Produce
symbols and legends , equipment specifications, and technical notes for drawing sets.
Prepare
instrumentation and controls drawings
including P&IDs, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams.
Support the creation of
control panel layouts
and UL 508A compliant documentation.
Coordinate drawing packages with civil, structural, process, and mechanical disciplines.
Assist engineers in preparing
power studies
(short circuit, arc flash, load flow).
Create and edit project specifications related to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
Incorporate client and industry standards into drawing sets.
Provide
as-built markups
and drawing updates following field changes.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.
Travel occasionally to project sites for field verification and design support.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
Minimum of ten years’ experience producing electrical and I&C design drawings.
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and ISA standards.
P.E. is a plus.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
(Revit experience a plus).
Ability to prepare accurate, constructible drawing sets with minimal oversight.
Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation design.
PLC/HMI and SCADA design/documentation knowledge is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
