Highlands at Faxon Woods is a 196-unit well-appointed community located in Quincy, MA. Residents have access to many amenities, including free shuttle services to and from Quincy Center, a state‑of‑the‑art fitness center, a library, and a clubhouse.
About the Role Northland is seeking a reliable and dedicated Porter to join our team and play a key role in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of our community. In this position, you will help ensure our grounds and common areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and guests.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of the community to identify and report issues related to irrigation systems, outdoor lighting, and other equipment.
Maintain walkways, parking areas, recreation spaces, and common areas by removing debris and ensuring cleanliness throughout the property.
Assist with trash removal and upkeep of exterior amenity spaces.
Support the maintenance team with general grounds and community upkeep tasks as needed.
Adhere to all health and safety standards to promote a safe environment for residents, visitors, and team members.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in groundskeeping, janitorial, porter, or general maintenance work is preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a service‑oriented mindset.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions effectively.
Ability to safely operate small hand tools and basic power equipment.
Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time and climb, bend, and squat.
Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
May be required to operate a golf cart on the property.
