This role provides hands-on technical support and leadership across multiple production disciplines and can independently lead low-production events. The Assistant Technical Director also supports light organizational and maintenance projects during low-event weeks.**Duties include:**Technical & Production Operations:• Serve as a shift lead for back-of-house operations, including lighting, sound, scenic, rigging, and stage operations.
• Provide hands-on support across all technical tracks and step in as needed to ensure production continuity.
• Lead low-production events independently, serving as the primary technical point of contact on site.
• Assist with load-ins, load-outs, rehearsals, and performances as scheduled.Operational Support & Organization:• Complete light organizational tasks related to technical storage, equipment, and workspaces.
• Support inventory organization, basic maintenance, and equipment readiness during low-event weeks.
• Assist in maintaining safety, cleanliness, and operational standards backstage and in technical areas.**Qualifications:**A high school diploma/GED is required along with three years of relevant experience. Candidates with prior experience in stage rigging, live production set-up, and/or theatrical equipment maintenance are highly desirable.**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:*** Working knowledge of lighting, audio, scenic, and stage operations.* Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and create or edit Word documents.* Strong organizational skills and the ability to troubleshoot in a live production environment.* Ability to load and unload items with or without reasonable accommodation to allow for the hanging and removal of scenic pieces.* Familiarity with operation and control of light board to accommodate productions with lighting needs to provide different looks onstage as requested by the renter of the facility,* Basic knowledge of sound equipment to accommodate simply sound reinforcement for renters of the theater.**Background Check Contingencies:**
