
The Iowa Democratic Party is hiring a Deputy Data Director for our Coordinated Campaign. The Deputy Data Director will support the statewide data program. Responsibilities will generally include:
Work with Senior Data Director to identify data needs across the state
Build data pipelines and integrations between tools and platforms
Design and develop reports and tools for other teams on the Coordinated Campaign in line with key programmatic priorities, particularly the organizing and digital teams
Build target universes for the purpose of voter contact
Maintain and respond to a ticketing system for data support requests and flags
Support other members of the data team to complete projects as necessary
Qualifications
Advanced Google Sheets Skills
Proficient in SQL
Experience with Votebuilder (VAN)
Comfortable programming in Python, R, or similar languages
Experience creating visualizations and dashboards using Looker Studio, Tableau, and/or Power BI
Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills
This position is full‑time and lasts through November 2026. Applicants must have a reliable laptop, cell phone, and vehicle. Applicants must also be comfortable working irregular hours including nights and weekends.
