Anthropic, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role As a Product Manager for the Research team at Anthropic, you will own the ideation and deployment of new models and products as we advance frontier, safe AI technology. You will work closely with our research teams to help productize credible applied research and identify high‑potential use cases grounded in customer needs. You thrive in ambiguous environments and can uncover latent, non‑obvious use cases for nascent technologies, bringing these insights back to research. Your curiosity about user needs enables you to connect advanced technology to products that deliver real‑world value.
We seek experienced founders and product managers who can bridge research and ambitious product experimentation, with the ability to create and grow entirely new product categories enabled by AI.
Responsibilities
Lead vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution of frontier technologies that leverage the latest AI capabilities to solve real‑world problems
Partner with research to define, improve, and ship model capabilities within a research area
Identify nascent research that could become transformative products
Synthesize user insights into actionable requirements and evaluations
Understand the AI landscape and ecosystem, ensuring we have an objective view of market capabilities and our position
Work with and influence a diverse set of stakeholders, including research, product engineering, and platform engineering teams
You might be a good fit if you
Have a deep passion and curiosity for AI and LLMs. Use AI regularly.
Have 5+ years in product management, with experience launching new products and scaling existing ones (founder background is a plus)
Are a first‑principles thinker with the ability to navigate and execute amidst ambiguity, flexing into different domains based on the business problem at hand and finding simple, easy‑to‑understand solutions
Possess a deep technical background with a strong grasp of AI/ML concepts and are willing to go deep on technical solutions; have a data‑driven mindset with working proficiency in Python and SQL
Have strong user empathy and the ability to synthesize vague or contradictory feedback into actionable priorities
