As an AKQA Senior Designer, you will play an essential role in the strategy, conception and design of beautiful ideas, products and services. Operating at an advanced level, this role demonstrates a deeper command of product visual design and UX integration. You will bring exceptional creative thought and craft output, developing and delivering projects from brief to end‑user.
NOTE: This is a temporary, full‑time freelance role for 3–6 months with potential to extend. Candidates may work remote (US only) as long as they are available during normal business hours, Eastern Time Zone, out of consideration for our team and client. Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available. Freelancers will be engaged on a temporary basis via W‑2; 1099/contractor/vendor status is not an option.

Role Requirements
Provide design solutions across various touchpoints (e.g. websites, mobile, apps, in‑store)
Champion excellent design and craft standards
Create style tiles, UI kits, mood boards and style guides
Lead the development and implementation of robust visual design systems and tokenized component strategies
Deliver responsive and systematic designs through an agile methodology
Ideate and co‑design with peers and clients in a positive and collaborative manner
Develop and deliver high‑fidelity prototypes and interactive experiences, primarily utilizing Figma
Adept at utilizing AI tools to inform and streamline the design process, from research to prototyping
Present design work confidently to stakeholders and build trusting relationships
Ensure projects and tasks are delivered on time and on budget, and to the highest quality
Share your knowledge with wider XD and AKQA teams and mentor mid/junior designers
Stay up to date with latest design and technology trends
Qualities and Characteristics
6+ years within a dedicated digitally‑focused design role (agency or client‑side)
Exceptional design aesthetics with a portfolio to demonstrate
Strong communication skills
Expert proficiency in Figma, including advanced library management and design system architecture
Proficient in user‑centered design methodologies and design thinking

Full‑time work schedule (40hrs/wk)
Anticipated weekly pay range between $2,500 – $3,000
