We are seeking a talented and innovative Landscape Designer to join our dynamic team. The Landscape Designer/Sales must be thoroughly familiar with designing all aspects of landscape construction, including site analysis, grading, drainage, plant selection and placement, hardscape (patios, walkways, decks, barbecues, gazebos, etc.), water features, lighting, etc. The Landscape Designer must have excellent analytical as well as aesthetic skills and provide excellent customer service. The Landscape Designer/Sales monitors the installation of landscape and irrigation projects daily and interfaces with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The Landscape Designer/Sales will also interface with other departments, including Production and Accounting.

Responsibilities

Design the project and estimate the costs of the project for the customer.

Interface with customers and ensure that all of the customers' concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

Establish design budgets and deadlines for customers.

Conduct appropriate site analysis.

Present final design.

Continually inform and update customers on design progress or lack thereof.

Conduct site visits and ensure the project is produced as designed with appropriate materials.

Analyze and approve all change orders.

Thoroughly understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.

Skill set and educational requirements

Minimum of three years of design experience in the green industry.

Able to conduct a thorough site analysis.

Able to analyze drainage and grading requirements.

Able to design quickly and efficiently.

Able to work in a collaborative environment. Candidate may be required to work directly with clients and production staff for the coordination of projects.

Balance team and individual responsibilities.

Experience with customer service and the ability to work well with clients, building and maintaining collaborative relationships with both new and current clients.

Applicants shall possess knowledge of project estimating, design, and plant varieties.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced work environment.

Proficient in both verbal and written communications.

Proficient in general computer knowledge and efficiency.

Complete all tasks correctly and on time, consistently meeting deadlines.

Additional requirements include strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, paying high attention to detail, participating in design and construction meetings, and demonstrating creative thinking.

Other Duties

Support SLM's goals and values.

Follow policies and procedures.

Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.

Possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable on the company's insurance policy.

Undertake self-development activities.

Additional projects assigned, as needed.

Pay Base + Commission, and dependent on experience.
