Columbus, Ohio, a TEGNA CBS affiliate, has an exciting opportunity for a creative, innovative, and enterprising journalist to serve as our
Weekend Morning Anchor and Multi-Skilled Journalist. This role is ideal for a strong storyteller who thrives in both anchoring and reporting. The successful candidate will anchor weekend morning newscasts and report as an MSJ during the week or as newsroom needs dictate. We are looking for a journalist who excels in breaking news, enterprise reporting, and accountability journalism, and who is passionate about serving the central Ohio community. This anchor/MSJ must be a strong on-camera communicator who can lead weekend coverage with confidence and credibility while also developing original stories during the week. The ideal candidate understands the “why” behind stories and is committed to impactful journalism across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. This position requires a newsroom leader who builds relationships throughout the Columbus region, develops trusted sources, and creates compelling, original content. The candidate must be comfortable working independently in the field and collaboratively with producers and newsroom leadership to create engaging and innovative newscasts. A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a news gathering vehicle is required. Weekend Anchor Responsibilities: Anchor weekend morning newscasts with strong editorial judgment and engaging presentation Collaborate with producers to shape weekend newscast content and coverage priorities Deliver breaking news and developing stories accurately and confidently Help lead editorial decision-making during weekend shifts Responsibilities: MSJ Responsibilities (Weekdays or as assigned): Develop, write, shoot, and edit original stories for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms Enterprise story ideas through community contacts, social listening, and independent reporting Deliver live reports in the field during breaking news and major events Write and post daily content for WBNS-10TV.com, the 10TV app, and social platforms Build and maintain strong relationships and sources throughout central Ohio Use modern storytelling tools and techniques to create compelling, impactful content General Responsibilities: Use sound journalistic judgment and uphold the highest ethical standards Collaborate with newsroom leadership and colleagues to serve our audience across platforms Perform additional duties as assigned by newsroom leadership Requirements: Minimum 2–5 years of television news anchoring and/or reporting experience Strong live anchoring and reporting skills Proven ability to enterprise and develop original stories Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills Ability to work independently as a Multi-Skilled Journalist Strong editorial judgment and commitment to journalistic ethics Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure and breaking news situations Experience writing for broadcast, digital, and social platforms Journalism, Communications, or related degree preferred Proficiency with digital tools, editing software, and newsroom systems Benefits and Work Environment
