About the role Strategic Business Development - is responsible for establishing and developing deep, long‑term relationships with the world’s most important Biotech/Life Sciences companies, helping develop an AI ecosystem. We focus on priority data partnerships that have the potential to be highly impactful to the ecosystem.

As Strategic Business Development and part of the sales team, you will be a key team member negotiating strategic client contracts and partnerships as well as identifying new opportunities in the industry. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders including product, engineering, and finance to onboard and optimize strategic relationships, with an emphasis on growth. You will develop relationships with the decision makers and identify opportunities for win‑win collaboration to grow the AI ecosystem. The role will be starting with a few clients/partnerships in place already.

This job is fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and requires strong communication, prioritization, organization, and presentation skills. You must have deep subject matter expertise in cloud computing consumption‑based business models and technologies. You also must have at least 5 years of business development experience negotiating bespoke, non‑programmatic deals involving cloud compute operations and storge services.

What you’ll do

Develop and negotiate client contracts and partnerships that drive long‑term growth of the business, deliver innovation and value for our customers, and create value for strategic partners.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, engineering, finance, and stakeholders to develop strategic partnership objectives.

Build deep relationships with stakeholders in partner organizations to align their business objectives for win‑win outcomes.

Influence product and engineering decisions by providing data‑driven insights and qualitative analysis supporting the opportunity.

Develop KPIs to define, measure, and drive success and growth of the ecosystem.

Work closely with the executive team looking for new opportunities.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in business development, corporate development, or consulting within the cloud computing industry. (Preferably 2 years in the Biotech/Life Sciences industry)

Deep subject matter expertise in cloud computing consumption‑based business models and technologies.

Proven track record negotiating highly bespoke commercial arrangements up to C‑suite level.

Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in developing first‑principles and data‑driven business cases and strategic plans using a variety of tools.

Strong understanding of GTM and sales motions that drive success.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of distilling complex analyses into clear messaging for executives and stakeholders.

Ability to drive deal processes autonomously as the deal lead.

Bachelor’s degree desired in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or strong, proven technical aptitude.
