Role: Technical Writer
Location: Miami, FL (Hybrid)
Type: 6-9 month contract to hire
Technical Writer – Cybersecurity Policies, Standards & Programs

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to develop clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that supports enterprise scale products, services, and internal governance. This role requires a strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain language that is accessible to a diverse audience, including engineers, executives, customers, and auditors. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, technically savvy, and experienced in producing documentation for large enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
Develop various types of documentation including:
Policies, plans, standards, guidelines, procedures, and playbooks
Technical specifications and requirements
Architectural/referential diagrams, data flows, and process/workflows/playbooks
User guides, and operating manuals and operational runbooks
Collaborate with Governance Risk and Compliance, Engineering, and leadership teams to gather information and ensure accuracy.
Translate complex technical and architectural concepts into simple, plain, and actionable language.
Create process flows, diagrams, and visual aids to support understanding of systems and processes.
Ensure all documentation meets internal governance requirements, industry best practices, and style/branding guidelines.
Maintain version control and documentation structure in shared repositories and knowledge systems.
Continuously refine and improve documentation based on stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications
3–7 years of experience as a Technical Writer in an enterprise, technology, or SaaS environment.
Demonstrated experience writing policies, standards, procedures, and other formal governance documents.
Proven ability to produce highly technical content such as specifications, diagrams, white papers, and user documentation.
Excellent command of plain language writing and the ability to simplify complex topics.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown, Microsoft Office, diagramming tools like Visio or Lucidchart).
Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, or risk management preferred but not required.
Ability to manage multiple projects, balance priorities, and work collaboratively with cross functional teams.

Preferred Skills
Familiarity with NIST, ISO, SOC2, PCIDSS, or other security frameworks.
Experience supporting product launch cycles and writing customer facing technical material.
Knowledge of software development, cloud technologies, or IT infrastructure concepts
