Summer Recreation Program Leader
Do you enjoy being outdoors and keeping active? Do you want to make a difference in a young child's life? The Blaine Parks and Recreation Department is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to lead summer recreation programs for youth at various Blaine Parks. Hours and pay vary according to experience and assigned duties. PlayNet Recreation Leaders will be assigned to the PlayNet Blaine Summer Playground Program. Age groups range from juniors (3 1/2 to 4 years old) and school age (5 to 11 years old). If you are a strong leader and like to work with youth, this is the perfect summer job for you! Posting will remain open until all positions are filled. Duties include but are not limited to: leading PlayNet participants in games leading PlayNet participants in arts & crafts leading PlayNet participants in sports leading PlayNet participants in other planned activities at a specific site or sites. The optimal applicant will demonstrate: Strong leadership skills Understand the developmental stages of youth Have the ability to motivate and manage youth Shows good judgment Shows enthusiasm. PlayNet Recreation Leaders will be trained in First Aid. Minimum requirements: Must be 16 years of age by June 1, 2026 Tentative work schedule: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Dates of employment: Mid June - Mid August Training will take place Early June Hours per week: Approximately 25 - 30 hours per week This position is not eligible for benefits.
