
Job Summary
UATX is looking for an Editorial Assistant to the Editor In Chief to support the communication efforts at UATX.
Responsibilities
• Proof copy as requested (e.g. Substack articles, admissions letters, etc.)
• Conduct research
• Consistently and conscientiously update digital and print materials to maintain accuracy and mission-alignment; take initiative and implement edits quickly
• Filter initial media inquiries
• Post approved content across social media (e.g., X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn)
• Confirm filming schedule with all parties (Communications, University guests, Student Life) and obtain publication approval from film subjects
• Maintain an organized database of dated video files
• Review long-form videos to pitch relevant, mission-aligned timestamps to Editor in Chief for clippable video highlights
• Support Video Producer in operations on a rolling basis (data entry, guest communication, etc.)
Qualifications
• Sharp eye for editing and detail-oriented writing
• Strong research and fact-checking ability
• Comfortable managing digital, web, and print content and updates
• Familiar with handling media inquiries and social channels
• Organized with schedules, approvals, and digital file systems
• Able to identify and pitch compelling video clips
• Character, diligence, and missional alignment
