Required Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with administrative endorsement

Job Function The Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment provides district-wide leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, educational technology, and grant‑funded programs. The Director ensures full compliance with Illinois Learning Standards, Illinois School Code, Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements, and applicable federal regulations, including all Title programs. This position oversees instructional and technology systems that support student achievement and serves as a qualified evaluator of district administrators in accordance with state law.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, review, and continuous improvement of district curriculum aligned with Illinois Learning Standards and district goals
Oversee instructional programs, assessments, and data systems to support teaching, learning, and continuous improvement
Analyze student achievement, assessment, and program data to inform instructional decisions and district improvement planning
Support school improvement planning and accountability processes required by ISBE and federal law
Technology Leadership
Provide direct oversight of the Technology Department to ensure alignment of technology infrastructure, systems, and instructional tools with curriculum, instruction, and assessment needs
Ensure effective integration of instructional technology, digital learning platforms, learning management systems, and assessment tools
Collaborate with technology leadership to support data security, instructional access, and compliance with applicable technology regulations
Grant Administration and ISBE Compliance
Write, coordinate, and submit all required applications for Title grants, including but not limited to Title I, Title II, Title III, and Title IV, as well as other state, federal, and competitive grants, the Consolidated Plan and Grant Periodic Reports
Ensure all grant‑funded programs are implemented in accordance with ISBE guidance, approved applications, federal regulations, and district policies
Monitor grant budgets, timelines, allowable expenditures, and program effectiveness in collaboration with the Business Office
Maintain required documentation, data collection, and evidence to support ISBE monitoring, audits, and federal program reviews
Prepare, complete, and submit all required ISBE reports, grant amendments, evaluations, and end‑of‑year reports accurately and on time
Ensure compliance with federal requirements related to equitable services, time and effort reporting, supplement‑not‑supplant, and program evaluation
Administrator Evaluation and Leadership
Evaluate district administrators in accordance with Illinois School Code and district evaluation plans
Ensure all administrator evaluations are conducted by individuals who have completed required Illinois evaluator training
Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and professional development for principals, administrators, instructional staff, and technology personnel
Serve as Lead Administrator for the Summer School Program and District Family Engagement Nights/Events
Serve as the Sexual Harassment and Complaint Manager for the District
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with the Superintendent, district leadership, principals, and department heads to improve instructional effectiveness and operational coherence
Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for the Superintendent and Board of Education
Serve as a district liaison for ISBE, regional offices of education, and other external agencies related to curriculum, instruction, technology, and grants
Serve as the 5‑Essentials Survey Coordinator and any other District Survey Coordinator
Other Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
