THE ROLE_ The Director, Operations (Commercial & Data Operations) is responsible for building and leading a critical operations function that ensures
completeness, accuracy,
and
timeliness
ofmedia data in Talon’s proprietary media platforms (Plato and Atlas), working closely with Client, Commercial, and Finance teams. This role will report directly to the CFO & COO, North America.
This role owns the operational backbone that connects
pipeline, contracts, vendor costs, and platform data , providing Finance with a robust secondary review layer and ensuring accuracy in reported performance, revenue, and margin.
The Director will lead a team responsible for data reconciliation, vendor cost validation, and pipeline governance, while also partnering closely with Commercial, Finance, and Legal to strengthen end‑to‑end execution, compliance, and reporting.
This is a highly cross‑functional leadership role, combining
data governance, commercial operations, and financial discipline , with a mandate to improve scalability, reduce risk, and unlock incremental insight across the business.
A DAY IN THE LIFE_
Own end‑to‑end accountability for
Plato and Atlas data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
in partnership with Client teams responsible for campaign data input.
Establish reconciliation processes between Plato, Atlas, pipeline reporting, and finance outputs.
Act as the
second layer of review
for Finance, identifying discrepancies, anomalies, and risks before close and reporting cycles.
Define data standards, controls, and best practices to improve reliability and audit readiness.
Lead vendor cost matching across media owners, platforms, and internal systems.
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in vendor costs, invoices, and booked spend.
Partner with Finance and external vendors to ensure accurate cost capture and margin integrity.
Implement scalable controls to reduce leakage, delays, and manual rework.
Own commercial pipeline governance, including
weekly pipeline reporting and reconciliation against Plato data .
Ensure pipeline data reflects accurate status, value, timing, and probability.
Partner with Commercial leadership to improve forecasting accuracy and consistency.
Provide leadership with clear, trusted views of pipeline health and conversion risk.
Commercial Operations & Contract Execution
Support alignment between Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Legal on deal execution.
Ensure contracts are accurately reflected in systems and aligned with booked revenue and costs.
Improve handoffs between client teams and finance to reduce friction and errors.
Compliance & Risk Management
Oversee operational compliance reviews including:
Master Advertising Frameworks (MAFs)
Purchase Orders (POs)
Legal and contractual requirements
Ensure processes support internal controls and external audit requirements.
Identify operational risks and implement preventative controls.
Analytics & Reporting
Develop enhanced reporting and analytics around:
Media owner spend
Cost accuracy and variance analysis
Translate complex data into actionable insight for Finance and Commercial leadership.
Continuously improve dashboards and management reporting.
Leadership & Culture
Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing operations team.
Role model Talon values and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Partner with senior leadership to scale operational capability in line with business growth.

Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to operate at scale
Structured problem solver with experience designing controls and processes
Comfortable working with complex datasets and systems

Significant experience in operations, commercial operations, finance operations, or data governance roles
Strong understanding of revenue, pipeline, cost management, and reconciliation processes
Experience working with commercial and finance systems (e.g., CRM, billing, finance platforms)
Proven track record of building scalable processes and control frameworks
Experience in media or agency services environments preferred
Degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, operations, or a numerate discipline
