Job Title: Electrical Designer
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Type: 3 year Contract
Compensation: $35.00 hourly

System One is currently seeking an Electrical Designer on a 3 year contract position located in Birmingham, AL.
Electrical Designer Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with project teams to understand design requirements and objectives
+ Develop physical designs producing 3D models and design drawings, including system layouts
+ Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD) to create and modify electrical drawings
+ Maintain proficiency in design software and stay updated on software enhancements, or other applications
+ Ensure that electrical designs adhere to industry standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements
+ Conduct code reviews and updates as necessary
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and architects, to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs
+ Address design-related issues and provide design solutions
+ Create and maintain organized documentation of electrical designs, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs)
+ Prepare technical reports and documentation for project deliverables
+ Perform site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability
+ Perform quality checks and reviews of electrical designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project goals.
Electrical Designer Requirements:
+ Requires 5-7 years of related experience.
+ Extensive 3D modeling experience is strongly preferred
+ Proficiency in CAD software
+ Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE)
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills
+ Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality designs
+ Ability to collaborate within a team and with project stakeholders
+ Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
