Our client requires a Technical Cyber Assessor to conduct comprehensive control assessments for financial advisor branches.

The position focuses on endpoint and network security, secure remote access, and data protection, while ensuring alignment with corporate policies and financial industry regulations.

The assessor will deliver clear findings and remediation guidance to support leadership and compliance teams.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis. Our W2 consultants enjoy a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $35.00 to $38.00/hr. (W2)

Responsibilities

Perform remote assessments of branch office environments.

Evaluate endpoint security configurations for effectiveness and compliance.

Review network segmentation and firewall rules to verify proper control implementation.

Assess secure remote access and VPN configurations for adherence to standards.

Validate data protection measures including encryption and backup practices.

Verify compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards and financial regulations such as SEC and FINRA.

Review physical security controls related to IT assets and data handling.

Conduct technical testing such as configuration reviews.

Interview branch personnel to gauge security awareness and process adherence.

Document findings and provide clear, actionable remediation recommendations.

Prepare detailed assessment reports for leadership and compliance teams.

Experience Requirements

2 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity assessments or technical audits.

Strong knowledge of endpoint security, network security, and secure remote access.

Knowledge of financial industry compliance requirements including SEC and FINRA.

Familiarity with security tools such as Nessus, Qualys, and CIS benchmarks.

Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.

Relevant certifications including CRISC, CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CEH (preferred).

Experience assessing branch or distributed office environments (preferred).

Ability to explain technical findings to non‑technical staff (preferred).

Strong understanding of risk management in financial services (preferred).

Self‑motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively (preferred).

Education Requirements

Relevant certifications such as CRISC, CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CEH (preferred).

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
