in 2020, Co-founders Mark Wahlberg, entertainment executive Stephen Levinson, and performance sports executive Harry Arnett envisioned creating a brand with no existing comparison. Position Summary We are looking for a high-impact Senior Digital Designer to join our rapidly scaling brand as a visual storyteller and strategic partner at the intersection of brand aesthetics and performance marketing. In this role, you are the primary engine for digital innovation, responsible for transforming MUNICIPAL’s creative vision into digital-first experiences that build deep emotional connections and drive measurable business growth. Reporting to the Director of Brand & Digital Design, you will support the execution of digital creative initiatives, AI-driven workflows, and scalable design systems to uphold and grow our visual integrity.
Key Job Responsibilities
Execute Digital Excellence:
Design and produce high-performing visual assets across our entire digital ecosystem, including lifecycle marketing (Email/SMS), paid media, organic social, and landing pages.
Scale the Brand:
Support brand storytelling by translating our core identity into compelling digital executions that resonate with a culture-driven audience.
System Ownership:
Maintain and push our design systems forward, ensuring visual consistency across all channels.
Conceptual Strategy:
Contribute to campaign concepts from the ground up, bringing references and fresh ideas to the table.
Future-Proof Workflows:
Actively evolve design processes by leveraging AI-augmented tools to increase speed and output quality.
Asset Production:
Lead the resizing, preparation, and management of product imagery and content uploads for the DTC site.
Expertise
Digital-First Mastery:
A deep understanding of how design functions across different digital surfaces. You know how to design for a thumb-stopping social ad versus a high-conversion landing page.
Systems Thinking:
You have experience working within (and building) design systems. You have a meticulous eye for hierarchy, typography, and layout.
Efficiency at Speed:
You are comfortable designing in a fast-paced, scaling environment. You can deliver high-quality work on tight timelines without sacrificing your creative standards.
Modern Toolset:
You are a
Figma/Sketch
expert. You also possess strong working knowledge of the
Adobe Creative Suite
(Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and understand the technical nuances of moving from concept to production.
AI-Curiosity:
You are already experimenting with AI tools (Weavy, Midjourney, Firefly, etc.) to enhance your creative process. You understand how to balance human craft and taste with the speed of automation.
Collaboration & Soft Skills:
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working across Creative, Product, e-comm, Retail teams. You interpret feedback into elevated solutions rather than just revisions. You understand how to translate print design assets into high-quality digital experiences.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a design role, preferably within a high-growth startup, DTC brand, with solid knowledge of digital design a must.
A strong portfolio demonstrating digital-first brand work, performance marketing assets, and a sophisticated design sensibility.
Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously in Asana or similar PM platform.
Deep passion for modern culture, design trends, and emerging AI technology.
