Position Title:
Residential Construction Superintendent
The Residential Construction Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing high-end luxury home construction projects. This position requires hands‑on involvement at job sites while leading subcontractors and internal staff. The superintendent is expected to manage various aspects of residential construction, including HVAC, plumbing, framing, and roofing. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining cleanliness and professionalism on site. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set and be prepared to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
Residential Construction Superintendent Responsibilities
Oversee 1-2+ active jobs, depending on size, and manage site transitions as needed
Coordinate, schedule, and supervise subcontractors across various trades
Maintain daily logs and manage quality, sequencing, safety, and site cleanliness
Engage in hands‑on tasks at project start and closeout, with less hands‑on involvement during mid-phase
Perform occasional light carpentry and repairs as necessary
Travel to suppliers and maintain clean job sites and vehicles
Residential Construction Superintendent Requirements
Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass a required state driving safety course
Willingness to work hands‑on when needed
Strong communication skills and a commitment to team collaboration
Dedication to maintaining clean and organized job sites and vehicles
A carpentry background is strongly preferred for Maryland market candidates
Broad residential construction knowledge across trades is preferred
Prior superintendent/site supervision experience on custom residential projects is preferred
Education is valued but not required
Tool ownership is preferred
