
Our bicoastal talent agency is looking to hire a Business Affairs Associate who is eager to join our Business Affairs team in the Los Angeles office. We are seeking someone who is passionate about the entertainment industry and has a strong interest in negotiation, deal structure, contract administration, and talent representation.
This candidate will support the Business Affairs team, this role will assist in reviewing, negotiating, drafting, redlining, and tracking agreements, deal memos, and escrows across all company divisions. The Associate will help ensure contracts accurately reflect negotiated terms and are properly executed, distributed, and archived, while also providing administrative, corporate, and employment law support to senior Business Affairs executives as needed.
The ideal candidate has familiarity with entertainment contracts and is highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced agency environment where accuracy, discretion, and collaboration are critical.
Responsibilities
Draft, negotiate, review, and redline talent agreements, deal memos, offers, escrows and related correspondence
Track and process contracts for film, television, literary, unscripted, voiceover, digital, and endorsement deals
Interpret deal terms and provide guidance to agents and executives
Summarize key deal points and distribute internally to agents and finance
Coordinate execution of agreements through electronic signature platforms
Maintain and improve contract tracking spreadsheets and internal databases
Work closely with agents to verify commission structures and payment terms
Advise on guild-related matters (SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA, etc.), including guild minimums and requirements
Maintain organized electronic contract files and internal archives
Support process improvement initiatives to streamline Business Affairs workflows
Communicate with agents and executives regarding deal status and outstanding documentation
Conduct basic research related to industry standards and union agreements
Assist with compliance tracking and internal reporting
Basic Qualifications
1–5 years’ experience in business affairs, entertainment law, talent agency, studio, production company, or transactional law
Juris Doctor (J.D.) required
Active member of the California Bar in good standing
Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word (including redlining), Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within a talent agency or entertainment-focused legal environment
Strong understanding of entertainment deal structures and contractual language
Familiarity with SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA, and other guild agreements
Experience working in a talent agency or production company environment
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
Proactive thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret contractual language

Compensation: $71,000 - $100,000 per year
