The only thing we love more than coffee is our people.Peet’s Coffee is seeking a **Senior Marketing Manager of Innovation** to lead the end-to-end development of new products and platforms within the CPG business. This role sits at the intersection of consumer insight, category strategy, product development, brand marketing, and commercialization. You will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, shaping the innovation pipeline, and driving projects from idea to launch across coffee, ready-to-drink, and adjacent beverage/food categories.This leader partners closely with R&D, Consumer Insights, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver breakthrough innovation that meets consumer needs, strengthens Peet’s brand equity, and drives sustainable business growth.**Salary***$150,000 – $175,000***Location**

*Emeryville, CA – Hybrid, 3 days onsite***Essential Responsibilities:****Innovation Strategy & Pipeline Development (35%)*** Develop and maintain a 1–3 year innovation roadmap grounded in consumer, category, and competitive insights.* Identify whitespace opportunities and size platforms that extend Peet’s reach across CPG channels.* Build business cases, define target consumers, clarify strategic roles, and set volume/financial targets.**Consumer Insight & Concept Development (20%)*** Translate consumer trends, need states, and usage occasions into compelling product concepts.* Partner with Insights to run concept tests, qualitative work, rapid prototyping, and in-market experiments.* Ensure all innovation aligns with brand values, taste standards, and CPG growth strategy.**Cross-Functional Product Development Leadership (30%)*** Lead cross-functional teams through stage-gate: idea → brief → formulation → packaging → commercialization.* Partner with R&D on product briefs, sensory targets, specs, and iteration plans.* Oversee packaging development—including structure, graphics, claims, RTBs, and regulatory alignment.* Identify and resolve risks related to supply chain, formulation, cost, and retailer readiness.**Commercialization & Go-to-Market Planning (15%)*** Develop launch plans including positioning, messaging, claims, and creative briefs.* Collaborate with Sales on retailer sell-in stories, customer-specific programming, and pricing architecture.* Partner with Brand Marketing, MarCom, and eCommerce to activate campaigns, content, and media.**Essential Qualifications:*** 7–10+ years of experience in CPG marketing, innovation, brand management, or product development.* Proven track record of bringing new products to market in CPG (beverage, coffee, food, or related categories preferred).* Must be a strategic thinker with strong consumer understanding skills, translating qualitative and quantitative customer insights into product strategy and winning marketing plans and a high degree of creativity to find new, compelling ways to reach and communicate to consumers.* Strong consumer intuition and ability to convert insights into product opportunities.* Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stage-gate processes.* Deep familiarity with syndicated data (e.g., Circana/IRI, Nielsen), consumer insights tools, and category analysis.* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.* Demonstrated financial acumen, including experience with P&Ls, forecasting, pricing, and business cases.* Passion for coffee, quality, and delivering standout consumer experiences.* MBA preferred.**Success in This Role Looks Like*** A robust, insight-driven innovation pipeline that fuels growth for Peet’s CPG business.* Successful launches that achieve velocity, margin, and brand health targets.* Strong cross-functional leadership that brings clarity, alignment, and momentum.* A consumer-obsessed approach to product development and strategic decision-making.This description outlines the role’s essential functions but may evolve with business needs.**What We Offer:**

The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the applicant’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education, certifications or licenses, other legitimate non-discriminatory business factors, and the geographic location of the role.
