
Sales Team Leader
Location: Cincinnati, OH 45201, US
Salary: USD $88,100 - $160,750 per year

The Sales Team Lead will work closely with FDM's clients and Brand Managers to develop and execute winning strategies for Kroger accounts, focusing on launching and managing client products in retailers within specified channels. The role will primarily execute strategies and tactics to increase market penetration, on‑shelf placement, and top line sales for client brands while maintaining current business, managing promotional planning, and seizing new business opportunities. The leader will build and maintain strong account relationships and lead a cross‑functional internal stakeholder team to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities
Customer understanding and advocacy
Provide insights and direction to the client for the assigned accounts
Act as knowledge expert in the Kroger account and understand customers’ strategy and execution imperatives
Analyze market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities using a data‑driven approach
Manage customer and client expectations
Customer engagement & planning
Direct customer engagement for assigned accounts and customize engagement approaches based on need and capabilities
Manage category review schedules, new item submissions across multiple accounts, and communicate deadlines using Asana
Demonstrate strong financial acumen, conduct ROI analyses, and provide trade investment recommendations
Leverage syndicated data to build selling stories and optimize the client’s go‑to‑market plan for the channel
Lead retailer sales meetings and pitch presentations with the client, providing guidance on sales materials, product positioning, prioritization, merchandising strategy, and pricing/promotions
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, promoting client brands and cultivating partnerships
Network and build strong relationships with key customer decision makers and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Minimum 4‑year degree required; MBA preferred
10+ years experience working with Kroger within the consumer retail industry
Selling experience in food and beverage consumer products, preferably across multiple brands or lines
Ability to analyze syndicated and panel data
Data‑based selling, experience turning insights into action
Experience managing a large book of business and numerous customers and clients
Knowledge of accounts, market characteristics, competitive environment, growth opportunities, etc.
Experience managing and/or influencing others
Exceptional negotiation and persuasive selling ability
Outstanding communication, presentation, and people skills
Strong conflict management and composure skills
Excellent time management and superior attention to detail
Computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Power BI, etc.)
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced matrix environment
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams with encouragement and positivity
Must be open to travel approximately 20‑25%
