HR Associate – Expatriate Support (Japanese Bilingual)
Salary: $65k-$85k
Department Human Resources – Expatriate HR Team
Reporting Line Reports to: Manager, Expatriate HR Team
Background / Purpose of the Role Due to a change in internal responsibilities within the HR team, support is required to take over expatriate-related HR operations excluding payroll processing. This role will support day-to-day expatriate HR administration and coordination, working closely with expatriates, their managers, and internal stakeholders.
Organizational Structure The Expatriate HR Team typically consists of two local HR staff members reporting to the team manager. Currently, some evaluation and promotion-related tasks are supported by an expatriate staff member, which is expected to continue for approximately one year.
Key Responsibilities Expatriate HR Operations
Provide comprehensive support for expatriate employees throughout their assignment lifecycle
Manage expatriate expense reimbursements and settlements, including:
Administration and monitoring of AGAVE
Understanding expatriate support policies and ensuring accurate processing
Coordination with payroll as needed
HR Systems & Data Management
Register, update, and maintain expatriate employee information in HR systems (DF / SF), including:
New hire onboarding
Promotion, transfer, and organizational change updates
Ongoing data accuracy and maintenance
Additional Expatriate Support
Support expatriate health management and crisis response processes (support role only)
Assist with expatriate evaluation, promotion, and transfer-related processes (support role only), including:
Email coordination
Data compilation and administrative support
※Primary ownership for health management and evaluation-related matters will remain with other designated HR team members.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Junior-level candidates are welcome; no advanced HR specialization required
Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
Ability to interact with multiple expatriates and their managers professionally
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency over speed
Ability to handle administrative and coordination tasks reliably
Language Requirements
Business-level proficiency in
Japanese and English

Additional Notes This role is primarily operational and administrative in nature and does not require high-level HR expertise. It is well-suited for candidates who enjoy steady, detail-oriented work and frequent communication with stakeholders.
