Role Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced AI-driven Search Engine Optimization Manager to lead our transformation from traditional SEO practices to advanced AI-first content discovery. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing scalable systems that enhance content discoverability and trustworthiness by AI platforms. Your immediate focus will be auditing our content and technical infrastructure for AI retrievability, implementing performance tracking for citations and answers, and launching automation initiatives that effectively structure and tag content for optimized machine consumption. In the long-term, you will develop frameworks and processes that standardize AI SEO optimization across all content and web authors. You will collaborate closely with teams in Product Marketing, Content Marketing, Web Operations, Engineering, Design, and Localization to incorporate AI readiness into daily publishing workflows, ensuring sustainable and repeatable standards and automation. Key Responsibilities
Act as the expert on AI content discovery, retrieval, ranking, and citation, translating technical concepts into practical standards and automation for our publishing ecosystem. Design and implement scalable content pipelines for machine-friendly formatting and tagging (e.g., metadata, schema). Create an AI performance monitoring framework to track critical metrics such as citations, answer accuracy, coverage, and trust signals across major AI platforms. Partner with Engineering to embed effective retrieval patterns ensuring crawlability for AI systems beyond traditional SEO methodologies. Work with Product Marketing Managers and Content Marketing Managers to integrate AI-optimized guidelines and resources into the content creation process. Drive engineering efforts to develop automated quality assurance systems to identify outdated content, formatting issues, and missing metadata. Build visual dashboards and reports that showcase AI discovery metrics to stakeholders, advocating for priorities based on measurable results. Stay updated on industry changes from major players like OpenAI and Google, adjusting our standards and automation processes to maintain competitive advantage. Qualifications
Strong expertise in information retrieval within AI systems: embeddings, scoring, source attribution, and content citation signals. Experience designing scalable content frameworks including metadata models, schema, and APIs optimized for machine consumption. Proven knack for automation and operational efficiency by creating workflows and monitoring systems that minimize manual intervention. Ability to convert complex technical information into clear standards for non-technical content creators. Data-driven mindset with skills to define KPIs for AI discovery and evaluate impacts across multiple platforms. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a talent for influencing groups and building consensus around best practices. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with automated accuracy testing and content freshness monitoring. Experience with tools like Profound or AirOps. Background in web architecture, SEO beyond traditional practices, or content API design. Exposure to CMS customization and automation techniques. Previous success in enhancing AI citation rates or answer quality. Adaptability to thrive in fast-paced environments where technological standards shift rapidly. Additional Information
