Overview This role is responsible for driving ownership, governance, and continuous improvement of core manufacturing digital systems at Sun Pharma primarily SAP (PP, QM, PM modules); along with connected platforms such as MES, eLogbook, QMS, LIMS, and other OT/IT systems. The position acts as the business process owner, ensuring harmonized processes across sterile and non-sterile manufacturing sites and enabling ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities SAP Ownership & Governance
Serve as the Business Owner for SAP modules related to manufacturing (PP), quality (QM), plant maintenance (PM).
Define and harmonize business processes.
Own SAP change pipeline and ensure compliant implementations.
Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance.
Leadership of Allied Manufacturing Systems
Provide functional oversight and work with stakeholders of MES, eLogbook, QMS, LIMS and related systems.
Align cross-system business rules and master data.
Build integrated digital manufacturing roadmaps.
Manufacturing Domain Expertise
Strong understanding of sterile and non-sterile manufacturing.
Anchor best practices for batch execution and documentation.
Support EBR and digital shopfloor rollouts.
Familiar with various Supply chain management and procurement system getting used in Pharmaceutical Industry.
Familiarity with Validation and Qualification for Software, Equipment, area, etc.
Well conversed with Project management functions. e.g., Infrastructure, Software implementation, Product development etc.
Familiar with GXP regulations for Pharmaceutical Drug formulation plants.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
Identify digitization opportunities.
Deploy lean and Six Sigma approaches.
Drive KPIs and dashboards across manufacturing.
Stakeholder & Change Management
Act as bridge between manufacturing, QA, IT, and vendors.
Lead UAT, training, and capability building.
Communicate system/process changes enterprise-wide.
Travel Estimate:
25% of time
Job Requirements Educational Qualification:
Pharmaceutical Technology / Pharmacy
Chemical Engineering
Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering
Industrial / Production Engineering
Mechanical Engineering (with pharma manufacturing experience)
Strongly Preferred (But Not Mandatory):
M.Tech / MS (Pharma, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing)
MBA / PGDM (Operations, Supply Chain, or Systems)
Experience:
Must-Have:
Strong SAP PP/QM/PM knowledge.
Experience with MES, eLogbook, QMS/eQMS, LIMS systems.
Deep knowledge of cGMP, data integrity, regulatory norms.
Multi-site or corporate manufacturing experience.
Good-to-Have:
Experience with EBR/MES rollouts.
Knowledge of OT/automation systems.
Lean Six Sigma certification.
Prior experience in large-scale process harmonization
Tenure: 20 to 22 years with at least 12 years of experience in pharma manufacturing
