
Intervention Specialist (Columbus OH)
We are seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist for an outstanding charter school client in SE Columbus. This is an onsite full-time contract position serving Elementary and Middle school students in the Columbus, Ohio area.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students
Provide specialized instruction and support to help students achieve academic and social goals
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing learning environment
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
Skills
Proven experience as an Intervention Specialist or Special Education Teacher
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methodology
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as mediator between children
Cool-tempered, friendly, reliable, and adaptable
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (or related field)
Valid state (OH) teaching certification/license as an Intervention Specialist
Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred
Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
