Automotive Collision Parts Advisor
The ideal candidate must be tech savvy and proficient in computers, possess a valid driver’s license, and be a persistent problem solver, with a focus on superior customer service both with retail and internal customers. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and compensation will be commensurate with a level of experience. Pay is a salary base with commission based upon gross labor and parts sales. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automotive Collision Parts Advisor to oversee all aspects of our body shop parts department operations at 2 locations. This crucial role involves managing inventory, ensuring the timely and accurate ordering and receiving of parts for collision repairs, and coordinating with other departments to maintain operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and in-depth knowledge of automotive parts and collision industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
Accurately maintain inventory control of all parts within the system to minimize obsolescence and ensure availability.
Ordering & Receiving:
Order parts as needed and ensure they arrive in a timely manner. Inspect all delivered parts for any damage or inaccuracies immediately.
Vendor Relations:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, regularly communicating on the status and delivery of parts.
Coordination:
Work closely with the Collision Center Manager and Estimators to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs. Assist in Production of Jobs through the repair process. Estimator License if a plus.
Documentation:
Ensure all purchases are properly accounted for, and all parts are correctly tagged to ensure proper credit and cost recovery.
Problem Solving:
Promptly address and resolve any issues with incorrect parts or customer complaints related to the parts department.
Ability to do consistent physical activity – reach below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, and squatting, and lifting objects over 50 lbs.
Be able to understand instructions – written and verbal
Must have the ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders
Can prioritize competing tasks and adapt easily to a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Experience:
2+ years of experience in an automotive parts department; prior auto body / automotive collision parts experience is preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in inventory management software, basic computer skills, and strong organizational capabilities. CDK Experience a plus, Experience with Parts Trader and Collision Link is preferred. Experience CCC Estimating software.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
The Ideal candidate will have a current PA Appraisers License.
Certifications:
I-CAR or ASE certifications are a plus.
Other:
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of automotive parts processes, including inventory control, shipping/receiving procedures and stocking experience preferred.
