Overall Responsibility The Investor Reporting Analyst is responsible for preparing, analyzing, reconciling, and delivering investor remittances and reports related to mortgage loan portfolios. This role ensures timely and accurate reporting to investors such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and private investors in compliance with servicing agreements and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit monthly investor reports and remittances in accordance with investor and regulatory requirements.
Reconcile principal and interest collections, advances, and custodial account activity.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in investor reporting and cash reconciliation.
Maintain accurate records and audit trails of all reporting and remittance activities.
Monitor and comply with investor guidelines (e.g., Fannie Mae 5500, Freddie Mac Investor Accounting Reporting).
Work closely with internal departments including Accounting, Loan Servicing, and Compliance to ensure data integrity.
Assist with internal and external audits, responding to investor and regulatory inquiries.
Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in projects to enhance reporting efficiency.
Support the onboarding and offboarding of investor portfolios.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience in investor reporting, loan servicing, mortgage banking, or a related financial services area.
Experience with GSE reporting systems (e.g., Fannie Mae CRS/CDS, Freddie Mac Investor Reporting Change Initiative – IRCI) is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, investor guidelines, and remittance practices.
Proficient in Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros preferred).
Familiarity with servicing systems such as MSP, LoanServ, or Black Knight is advantageous.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
