Senior Media Delivery Streaming Engineer – Summary Disney’s Media Delivery team is seeking a Senior Media Delivery Streaming Engineer who will be an exceptional addition to our Media Delivery team. You help facilitate the onboarding of content delivery to our media platform. You are a trusted operational advisor to all teams and leadership and often partner with Engineering & Product teams. You are the go‑to escalation contact for complex artwork, metadata and A/V issues, driving timely root‑cause analysis, corrective action, and durable fixes that elevate quality and efficiency across the end‑to‑end digital supply chain.
You will:
Serve as a key go‑to resource and escalation contact for our Content Management and Publishing teams in identifying and troubleshooting an array of complex metadata and A/V issues.
Ensure content integrity by auditing and evaluating against quality standards, monitoring systems for alerts and taking corrective actions, and performing both routine and more complicated asset management tasks.
Provide data and trend insights for operational objectives.
Evangelize and enforce our content specifications and provide technical support to external partners for delivery and quality issues.
Maintain documentation and runbook accuracy through regular refinement or creation.
Communicate tech challenges and operational requirements effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
Provide feedback on operational workflows to propose scalable solutions for content management and Hulu’s content toolset.
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respond to issues in a timely and effective manner.
Leverage cross-domain content expertise to drive project execution and product improvements.
Responsibilities
Act as a primary escalation point for Operational, Content Management and Publishing teams, resolving complex metadata and A/V issues.
Perform deep‑dive troubleshooting and trend analysis to identify and resolve systemic problems.
Respond promptly and effectively to multiple concurrent issues.
Partner with engineering and product teams to address operational needs across the digital supply chain, content toolsets, and business initiatives.
Communicate technical challenges and operational requirements clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Provide feedback on workflows to propose scalable solutions for content management and toolset improvements.
Audit and evaluate content against quality standards, monitor systems for alerts, and take corrective actions.
Execute routine and advanced asset management tasks to maintain content integrity.
Evangelize and enforce content specifications, offering technical support to external partners for delivery and quality concerns.
Maintain accurate documentation and runbooks through regular updates and refinements.
Leverage cross‑domain expertise to drive project execution and contribute to product enhancements.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital distribution, post‑production, and/or digital asset management.
Masterful digital video delivery experience, including knowledge of various video specifications, ingest platforms, content metadata schemas, and content management systems.
Outstanding communication skills and the ability to effectively present requirements, challenges and solutions across internal and external teams and partners.
Strong understanding of the digital content lifecycle, from production through distribution, including post‑production, QC, packaging and delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, and Scrum methods.
Specifications and standards documentation experience.
Good understanding of ABR streaming, specifically HLS.
Basic understanding of DAI workflows in an OTT environment.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex metadata and A/V issues across ingest, transcode, packaging, DRM, delivery, and playback; adept at trend analysis and incident management (Sev1/Sev2).
Experience with new and emerging video/audio encoding tech, including but not limited to 4K/UHD, Dolby Vision/Atmos, HDR10/HDR10+.
Experience with JSON/SQL/XML code languages in both literacy and basic usage.

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $117,500 to $157,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
