THE OPPORTUNITY The Senior Management Analyst (Business Development) will support strategic initiatives that attract, retain, and grow local businesses. This is a unique opportunity to combine analytical expertise with innovative thinking to help shape programs that drive economic vitality and business development. In this role, you will support programs that strengthen the City’s tax base, create quality jobs, and foster sustainable growth. Collaboration with internal teams, business leaders, and community stakeholders will be essential to advance economic development goals. Additionally, you will prepare clear, actionable reports and recommendations that influence decision‑making. If you are a detail‑oriented problem solver with a passion for economic growth and the ability to turn data into actionable insights, this position offers the chance to play a key role in building a thriving, business‑friendly community. This position will be on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off and may require working evenings, weekends, and special events to support the businesses in the community.

IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate for the Senior Management Analyst (Business Development) role is a strategic, analytical, and adaptable professional with a strong understanding of economic development and business growth strategies. This individual excels at using data‑driven insights to support initiatives that attract, retain, and expand businesses while fostering workforce development and community prosperity. The successful candidate demonstrates flexibility in managing multiple priorities and is willing to work occasional evenings to support community engagement and business development activities. Previous public‑sector experience, along with strong communication skills, relationship‑building abilities, and expertise in financial and operational analysis, is highly desirable for thriving in this dynamic role. A strong understanding of economic development strategies complements proficiency in financial modeling, budget preparation, and data analysis. Expertise extends to business retention and expansion programs and workforce development initiatives. This combination of skills equips the ideal candidate to contribute effectively to projects that foster sustainable economic growth and enhance community prosperity.
MINIMUM AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in finance or a closely related field; OR, equivalent related work experience; and
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing administrative, operations, budgetary, and similar analyses.
Experience in a governmental agency is preferred.
Required Licenses and Certifications: Valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurance under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
