Summary
The Community Relations & Special Events Associate supports educational, training, and outreach initiatives for the Section of Gastroenterology within the Department of Medicine. This role coordinates logistics and stakeholder engagement for faculty- and trainee-led educational programs and special events, and supports the development and distribution of educational materials. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who demonstrates initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external partners.
Job Duties
Coordinates and supports educational, training, and outreach events, including lectures, workshops, symposia, and community programs.
Provides logistical support for in-person and virtual events, including scheduling, registration, venue coordination, and live support.
Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders (faculty, staff, trainees) and external partners.
Supports community speaking engagements and special events representing the Section of Gastroenterology.
Assists with development, organization, and dissemination of educational and training materials.
Researches and recommends best practices to improve program operations and event effectiveness.
Works independently on moderately complex projects while managing multiple priorities.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting educational or training programs in an academic medicine or healthcare setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
Graphic design experience a plus.
