Dean Word Company is seeking an experienced Grading Foreman to lead earthwork operations on heavy‑highway and civil construction projects. We’re looking for a strong field leader who understands production, safety, and quality on TXDOT‑style work.
Position Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead grading crews on active projects
Plan and execute earthwork operations including subgrade, base, embankment, and finish grading
Read and interpret construction plans, profiles, and specifications
Coordinate equipment, manpower, and materials to maintain schedule
Ensure work meets TXDOT standards and project tolerances
Maintain jobsite safety, productivity, and quality control
Communicate daily with project management and inspectors
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Grading Foreman or Lead Operator
Strong knowledge of grading operations and heavy equipment (dozer, grader, excavator, loader)
TXDOT or heavy‑highway experience preferred
Ability to manage crews and drive production
