The Assets Protection team is dedicated to keeping our team, guests, and brand secure. By mitigating risks and preventing theft, we ensure our products are readily available for our guests. Our specialists build collaborative relationships with store leaders and public safety officials, including law enforcement. As an Assets Protection Officer, you will gain:

Skills in using surveillance and intelligence-led strategies to enhance safety while reducing theft. Experience in utilizing Target's video systems to monitor for theft. Knowledge in implementing best practices to minimize shortages. Expertise in effectively documenting theft cases. Experience in identifying and apprehending external theft and fraud. Your typical responsibilities will include:

Supporting store profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available, preventing and resolving theft. Using sound judgment in theft resolution and conducting apprehensions while adhering to policies. Recognizing theft trends through technology and surveillance. Gathering intelligence to prevent theft and communicate critical issues. Reacting promptly to security incidents and documenting them according to policy. Promoting a culture of safety by training team members in secure practices. Valuing inclusivity and creating a respectful environment for all. Maintaining strong relationships with public safety and law enforcement. Participating in legal proceedings to represent Target's interests. Completing any other duties as needed. We provide excellent training to equip you for success as an Assets Protection Officer. However, we also look for certain foundational skills: Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent. Meet local and state licensure and legal requirements. Have a welcoming attitude towards guests and fellow team members. Ability to communicate using various devices and operate necessary technology. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective time management and task prioritization skills. Capability to remain focused and efficient in a fast-paced environment. ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to climb ladders and move merchandise safely. Capability to apprehend individuals as per company policy. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds. Willingness to work varying hours, including nights and weekends; regular attendance is crucial. Ability to work in different environmental conditions during specific job duties.
