About The role of the Manager of Product Managers is to act as a hands‑on coach, mentor, teacher, and evaluator ensuring that all levels of Product Managers can effectively execute their responsibilities, coordinating product initiatives across all customer segments. This person must be an expert in product management and lead the team in creating printed and digital products that add the greatest value for customers. This people‑manager level position is hybrid, working in office at least three days a week.
Responsibilities
Manage, coach, and mentor at least 3 product managers throughout the product life‑cycle.
Resolve complex issues that exceed the scope of the product managers.
Regularly manage the work of other employees, including mixed workforce.
With HR, hire or fire employees and recommend advancement, promotion, or other status changes within the reporting line.
Manage product life‑cycle, including product awareness, performance, user satisfaction, financials, and resources.
Develop product roadmap, future enhancements, and retirement plans.
Research industry best practices, identify product opportunities, create business cases, and analyze feasibility.
Partner with development teams to develop the product, develop training and communication plans, deploy, and manage communication and training associated with product introduction and rollout.
Ensure smooth transition from development to operational phase.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a business or technology discipline (e.g., computer science) or related field.
At least 6 years of industry experience with a track record of success.
Experience developing business plans and requirements that shape service delivery to customers.
Experience managing multiple employees.
Ability to lead others through complex customer research and analysis of diverse cultures.
Experience managing products/services, vendors, and business partners.
Ability to navigate cross‑divisional, cross‑departmental, cross‑functional, and cross‑cultural differences and lead cross‑functional teams.
Ability to define and document work processes.
Ability to lead a team of highly educated and skilled managers.
Ability to develop product communication and marketing materials.
Ability to write user stories.
Ability to prepare succinct product presentations for leadership.
Preferred
Master’s degree in a business or technology discipline.
