PanAmerican Seed is an internationally renowned breeder and producer of F1 and Open Pollinated flower and vegetable seeds based in West Chicago, IL. We are seeking an outgoing, highly organized and detail orientated Global Customer Service Specialist to provide world class customer service to our broad customer base that stretches across 5 continents and over 93 countries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, drive, and flexibility, be an active team player with other members of the GCSS team, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Provide full spectrum of customer service support to customers including booking orders, order confirmations and order changes in a reliable and timely manner – to ensure the highest level of CS support in our industry
Ability to organize daily workflow to meet customer timeframes – to keep up with daily incoming orders
Track booked orders to ensure that all necessary paperwork and work is completed for an on-time delivery, including backordered seed and freight and follow up as necessary. Notify customers of issues that may delay delivery - to keep customers well informed on the progress of their orders
Apply for phytosanitary certificates and other international documents via the USDA website and other electronic means that are needed for export of product – so that orders are scheduled for delivery in a timely manner
Resolve customer complaints – for the potential to update business processes and ensure repeat business
Perform a variety of customer service-related tasks as assigned
Support the entire Global Customer Service team as needed – so that no customers, or orders, are left unattended or un-booked in the absence of their dedicated CS rep
Learn basic knowledge of PanAmerican Seed products and Product Forms – needed so that they can book orders from sometimes cryptic Purchase Orders
Requirements
Must have 1-3 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced, high transaction/ high pressure environment. International customer service experience a plus – highly desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Being bilingual is a plus.
Must have at least a high school diploma/GED.
PC knowledge including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Teams is required.
Must be able to work as in a team environment
Well organized and detail-oriented skills
Sensitivity to cultural, religious, political and language differences across a wide range of countries
Pay Range:
$20-24/hour
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit/stand 100% of the day
Ability to use hands/fingers 100% of the day
