About the Role We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Corporate Interior Designer to design and execute the interior spaces of xAI’s offices and data centers. This role involves collaborating with the Corporate Project Architect and facilities team to develop aesthetically pleasing, ergonomic, and sustainable interiors that enhance employee productivity and well‑being. The Interior Design Lead (Workplace) will oversee space planning, furniture selection, and material specifications, ensuring alignment with xAI’s innovative culture and operational needs. This position requires design expertise, project coordination skills, and a passion for creating exceptional workplace environments in a fast‑paced setting.

Responsibilities

Develop interior design concepts, mood boards, and detailed plans for xAI’s office spaces, including workstations, meeting rooms, communal areas, and specialty spaces

Collaborate with the Corporate Project Architect to ensure interior designs integrate seamlessly with the building’s architectural framework

Select and specify furniture, fixtures, finishes, and equipment (FF&E) that align with aesthetic, functional, and budgetary goals

Create 2D and 3D renderings using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) to present concepts to stakeholders

Ensure compliance with local building codes, ADA accessibility standards, and workplace safety regulations

Manage vendor relationships, oversee procurement, and coordinate installation of interior elements to meet project timelines

Incorporate sustainable and ergonomic design principles to support employee well‑being and environmental goals (e.g., WELL Building Standard or equivalent)

Gather employee feedback to tailor designs to diverse needs, fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere

Maintain accurate project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and specifications

Support facilities team in maintaining and updating interior spaces post‑occupancy as needed

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field

3+ years of professional experience in interior design, preferably for corporate or commercial spaces

Proficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite)

Knowledge of workplace design standards, building codes, and accessibility requirements

Preferred Skills and Experience

Master’s degree in Interior Design or related field

5+ years of experience, including 1+ year leading interior design projects for corporate offices

NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certification or willingness to obtain

Experience with sustainable design practices (e.g., WELL, LEED) and ergonomic workplace solutions

Familiarity with corporate environments, particularly in high‑tech or innovation‑driven industries

Strong project coordination skills, including budget management and vendor negotiation

Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement

Ability to work collaboratively in a flat, fast‑paced organizational structure

Proficiency with 3D visualization tools and rendering software

Understanding of furniture systems, lighting design, and material durability for high‑traffic offices
