About the Position College and Program Development generates financial support for Cal State Fullerton, benefiting each of the eight colleges, Student Affairs, Titan Athletics, the Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton, and the Pollak Library. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Associate Director of Development, College of the Arts (Administrator I). The Associate Director of Development works under the direction of the Senior Director of Development for the College of the Arts. Fundraising activities are consistent with the priorities of the Vice President for University Advancement as well as the Dean of the College. Responsibilities include the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors including corporate and foundation leaders, supporters, alumni, parents, faculty, and emeriti. Individual and corporate giving as well as membership development are key components, along with maintaining a multi-interval strategic fundraising plan with prospect management responsibilities. Additionally, the position assists the Senior Director with fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events. Works with the Senior Director to provide counsel and expertise to Board members and event committees; partners with corporate and foundation relations specialists in completing corporate, foundation and government grant proposals; and performs gift processing procedures through the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of two years of fundraising experience are required, along with the ability to solicit and secure gifts of at least $1,000. Demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to understand and work within a university culture. This role requires effective collaboration with teams of faculty, staff, students, and volunteers, as well as the ability to travel locally to meet with prospective donors. Proficiency in the use of general office equipment, Windows-based personal computers, administrative computing systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other relevant software applications are also required.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge in annual campaign programs, corporate and foundation philanthropy, volunteer management (or related experience as a volunteer leader), membership development programs, and special event planning.

Independent method of transportation is required. Must be able to work at annual commencement ceremonies.
