Position Title: UI/UX Designer

Location: Rockville, MD

Salary: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00

Position Summary The UI/UX Designer will support the organization by creating high-quality, user-centered design solutions for web and mobile interfaces. This role is responsible for developing wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and other design artifacts using industry-standard tools such as Figma. The designer will collaborate closely with UX stakeholders to understand customer needs, business goals, and project KPIs, ensuring all design decisions are supported by research, data, and usability best practices. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and the capability to balance independent work with cross-team coordination.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design and produce high-quality UI/UX solutions using wireframes, site maps, etc. using Figma

Collaborate with UX stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and business goals and collect valuable feedback to drive product direction and design solutions that address customer needs and meet project KPIs.

Perform tests on user interface elements.

Work comfortably in a fast-paced environment requiring transparent communication and quick turn-around expectations.

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Technology, Business or Another Related Field

Experience Required

6+ years of visual and sensory systems design

6+ years in user research, and UX/UI design for Web and Mobile interfaces

Experience with federal projects is a plus

Knowledge

Exceptional proficiency in user-centric front-end web development

Advanced proficiency in prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, Zeplin, Abstract, and InVision, or live code prototyping

Strong understanding of Accessible Design/Development principles (Section 508)

Comprehensive knowledge of Atomic Design and component-based design-development

Proven ability in data and insights analysis to determine experience success metrics & KPIs

Advanced proficiency in complex system mapping and process mapping

Expertise in user research and testing, mapping user journeys, and interactive flows

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong attention to detail

Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across teams

Basic understanding of project scope estimates
