Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the creation and implementation of effective marketing plans on an annual basis for the following sports: Men's and Women's Soccer and Softball. (40%)

Assist in creating and implementing effective External Plans for men's and women's basketball with an associated message that targets students, faculty and staff, alumni groups, and the general basketball fan. Will be assigned specific projects related to men's and women's basketball that include, but are not limited to: revenue generation opportunities, preseason events, program elements for Men's & Women's Basketball, on-campus student and faculty/staff attendance promotions, in-game promotions, giveaways, halftime entertainment and national anthem performers. (25%)

Assist with the management of game day operations and coordinate the student staffing required for fall and spring sports home competitions. This includes but is not limited to: corporate sponsor fulfillment, game scripts, promotional giveaways, national anthem performers, time out and halftime entertainment for home events. (25%)

Assist with the creation, planning, and implementation of digital marketing and advertising. Staying up to date on all digital trends and executing in a timely manner. (10%)

Knowledge of and adherence to DePaul University, BIG EAST Conference, and NCAA compliance policies and procedures. Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules compliance meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Must be enrolled full-time in graduate program at DePaul University.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Encompass the ability to work independently and/or remote, with limited supervision, and make professional decisions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability or willingness to learn programs such as In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator.

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Ability to travel between Lincoln Park campus, Wintrust Arena, and other off-campus competition venues.

Valid driver’s license.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds such as marketing equipment and supplies.

Supervises 5 to 15 student workers.

In order to avoid potential conflicts of interest, applicants may not work (paid or unpaid) for national, local, or University media outlets or entities.

Preferred Requirements

A prior working knowledge of NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics are preferred.

Hour Requirements / Schedule

Approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and university holiday breaks. Work is unable to be conducted remotely and will have essential in-person responsibilities.
