The Eden Prairie School District is seeking applicants for Associate Principal of Student Activities at Eden Prairie High School. This role provides leadership and oversight for a comprehensive student activities and athletics program that serves approximately 3,000 students and engages a staff of educators and activity advisors.

Responsibilities The Associate Principal of Student Activities works in close partnership with the principal and administrative team to lead, coordinate, and continuously improve student activities, athletics, and co‑curricular programs that enhance student engagement, belonging, and overall school experience. This leader provides supervision and support to activity staff and coaches, ensures safe and well‑managed events, and promotes programs that align with the academic mission of the school and the success of each student.

The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community of students, families, staff, and community partners. Eden Prairie Schools serves approximately 9,000 students with a workforce of 1,500 employees and is widely recognized for its commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence in educational and extracurricular programming.

Position Requirements

Current Minnesota Principal License, or ability to obtain.

A minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience.

A minimum of 1 year of educational leadership experience.

Experience in activities/athletics administration preferred.

Qualifications

Experienced leader to guide and manage staff in an inclusive environment that fosters trust, respect, innovation and equitable outcomes.

Knowledge and experience with current issues in activities & sports management, facilities and budgeting.

Experienced in the areas of curriculum, instruction and continuous improvement.

Experience in the areas of personnel development and evaluation.

Advanced coursework in areas pertaining to skills and content of the principalship.

Knowledge and experience regarding current issues in school management.

Skilled communicator and systems thinker who possesses excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with staff, students, parents and community.

Demonstrated ability to work within the framework of an administrative team.

Committed to high academic standards for all students.

Technological expertise in supporting systems that improve school‑wide data and process improvement needs.

Salary and Benefit Package* Salary: $166,030 - $169,330 depending on experience and education level. These numbers are also based on the 2025-2026 contract.

Vacation: 28 vacation days/year

Holidays: 12 paid holidays/year

Life Insurance: Life insurance fully paid by the employer for an amount equal to twice the employee's annual salary.

Long Term Disability Insurance: Long term disability fully paid by the employer.

Medical/Hospitalization: Medical/hospitalization plans available per the principal agreement.

Dental insurance available per the principal agreement.

14 days per year cumulative to 280 days

Tuition Reimbursement: 50% tuition for up to 3 credits per academic session for pre-approved coursework.
