Garden Center Sales Associate for The Gardens at Landscape Consultants
Join our team at The Gardens and Landscape Consultants and help bring spring to life for our customers!
We're looking for a high‑energy, customer‑focused individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, outdoor‑oriented environment. If you love plants, enjoy helping people, and want to be part of a team that makes our community more beautiful, this is the place for you. Preferred start date is mid March. Full time and part time shifts available including: day time and weekends in addition to 20 to 40 hours per week. Season typically runs from early/April through early November.
What You'll Do
Provide exceptional customer service
Assist customers with inquiries, plant selection, product recommendations, referring inquiries to plant experts, as needed
Support daily operations including perennial, shrub and tree care & sales support for nursery, inventory, processing sales transactions
Lead by example with strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
Drive sales through product knowledge, upselling, and customer engagement
Work collaboratively with team members to keep the garden center running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
High energy and a passion for working with people
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A self‑starter who takes initiative and works well independently
Strong leadership qualities and confident decision‑making
Sales‑driven mindset with a desire to help customers succeed
Previous experience in retail or service environments
Flexibility to work variable hours and shifts, including weekends
A valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience (a big plus!)
Knowledge of or interest in learning more about trees, plants, and landscaping/horticulture
Previous sales experience
Landscape design experience
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
Must be able to operate a cash register
Ability to lift/move items up to 10 lbs constantly, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally with or without accommodation
Must be able to work in and around plants, flowers, trees, and other live goods
Must be able to work in an outdoor environment during the months of March through November
