Technical Editor
to join our team in
Washington, D.C.
This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assists with writing and editing services to Program Managers.
Assist with producing and editing content material for review, signature, coordination, publication of various documents, and correspondence.
Assist with reviewing new contracts products for editing accuracy and formats and supporting other acquisitions at the program and project level.
Assist with collaborating with PMOD SMEs to write, revise, and/or edit technical documentation, including program processes or presentations, SOPs, technical manuals, and white papers.
Assist with the management of updates and revisions to technical literature.
Receives direction from the Technical Editor/Writer III.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in technical field, English, or Journalism. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, you must have an associate degree and 4yrs of related work experience -OR- a High School Diploma and 6yrs of related work experience
No previous experience required
Good communications, writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills.
Good writing, production, and technical editing skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in technical field, English or Journalism.
DHS experience
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust suitability prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
