OVERVIEW Alera Group is looking for an Account Manager – Surety to join our Northwest Bond Team. We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, specialized environment and enjoys owning work from start to finish. This role is different from the traditional Account Manager position. Our Surety team operates with full ownership and confidentiality—each Account Manager is responsible for the surety bond lifecycle and servicing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the full lifecycle of surety bonds, including new bonds, renewals, changes, and ongoing servicing

Prepare, review, and submit complete bond applications and supporting documentation, including confidential financial information

Work directly with surety carriers and underwriters to market bonds, respond to inquiries, and obtain approvals

Review financial statements and supporting documents to support underwriting and bonding decisions

Update and maintain accurate records in Erlon, Sagitta, and ImageRight; complete training and other duties as assigned

Track time-sensitive requests and ensure timely, accurate bond issuance

Strong exposure to underwriting, financial review, and carrier relationships

Serve as a key point of contact for clients, producers, and internal partners

Maintain accurate records and documentation in agency management systems

Ensure compliance with carrier guidelines, internal procedures, and confidentiality standards

Independently manage and prioritize a personal book of surety business

QUALIFICATIONS

Surety bond experience (contract, commercial)

Experience working directly with underwriters or carriers

Construction or contractor-focused client experience

Prior experience in surety, bonds, or commercial insurance (brokerage, carrier, or related environment)

Strong understanding of account management and client service principles

High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Comfort working independently in a hands‑on, execution‑focused role

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance or agency management systems

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This job requires presence in the office on a hybrid schedule as agreed with the manager.

Salary range is $32 to $42 per hour.
