Role Summary:

The Finance Manager - Marketing will serve as a strategic partner to the Marketing organization, providing analytical rigor, financial insights, and thought leadership that drive business performance. This role is responsible for developing financial models, supporting business development activities, and providing executive level reporting to the CEO, CFO, SVP–FP&A, and Director of Finance. Given the dynamic nature of marketing initiatives, and comprehensive scope of the role, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Modeling & Business Analysis

Conduct financial analysis and build models that support strategic business growth and cost management

Monitor and measure strategic spending activities and profitability metrics

Review and evaluate tests for new promotions and marketing initiatives, including in‑test and post‑mortem analytics

Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and promotional activities using advanced performance metrics

Deliver actionable insights on marketing performance trends and key drivers.

Ad hoc analysis, reporting and presentation needs of marketing department heads, SVP, CFO and senior management

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Reporting

Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Marketing organization, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and timely delivery

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including variance analyses, trend assessments, and performance commentary for senior leadership

Monitor marketing spend against budget and forecast, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations

Partner with Marketing teams to translate campaign and initiative plans into clear financial impacts and updated forecast assumptions.

Support month‑end close activities by validating accruals, reconciling spending, and ensuring expense accuracy across channels

Develop standardized reporting tools and dashboards that enhance visibility into Marketing performance, ROI, and spend effectiveness.

Overhead Management

Track and analyze Marketing G&A/overhead spending against budget and forecast, ensuring alignment with financial targets and organizational priorities

Proactively identify variances, cost drivers, risks, and opportunities, providing clear, actionable recommendations to optimize spending and improve financial efficiencyPartner with Marketing leaders and budget owners to ensure overhead allocations accurately reflect operational needs, resource usage, and strategic initiatives

Maintain rigorous oversight of recurring expenses, vendor contracts, subscriptions, and operational support costs to ensure transparency and cost discipline

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial experience, with demonstrated leadership in partnering with business functions—preferably supporting Marketing, loyalty programs, digital analytics, consumer data, and business development

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning is required with an advanced degree (MBA, equivalent) preferred

Proven analytical skills with a hands‑on and detail‑oriented nature; able to accomplish deep‑dive analytics both individually and in collaboration with the FP&A team

Familiarity with Cost Per Action, Return on Advertising Spend, Customer Lifetime Value, and Customer Retention Rate, consumer loyalty programs, consumer data analytics as well as future thinking metrics to drive a best in class marketing organization.

Curious, independent and proactive thinker with demonstrated record of approaching management with original and creative views on how to improve the business using data driven analysis

Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills

Clear verbal/written communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence and build positive interpersonal relationships

Ability to cope in a fast, dynamic environment and manage a wide range of tasks simultaneously

Track record of leading simplification and process improvement projects

Collaborative, team player

High degree of personal and professional integrity

Multi‑outlet brick & mortar retail and/or entertainment industry experience a plus

PowerBI, SQL, OLAP, or multi-dimensional database experience a plus

Experience in database maintenance, design or queries a plus
