
OUR VISION & MISSION
Founded in 2003 through the merger of two Indiana tech associations, TechPoint is the nonprofit, industry‑led growth initiative driving Indiana’s digital economy and broader tech ecosystem. Since 2006, it has operated under the umbrella of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), functioning as the strategic hub that connects public, private, academic, and philanthropic partners.

Based in Indianapolis at 16 Tech, TechPoint’s mission is to drive Indiana's digital economy through talent, innovation and community—expanding the tech talent pipeline, accelerating startup and enterprise growth, enhancing resource connectivity, and elevating the state’s tech community through collaboration and storytelling.
This position is part of the Xtern program. Xtern is for students who are enrolled in a University or College and is a professional development experience on top of your full‑time internship with TechPoint. Xtern provides three weekends where you will connect with other interns in tech and tech‑adjacent roles at companies in the Indianapolis area. Xtern weekends focus on professional development, civic engagement, and social opportunities to grow your network. You will have access to an online community, bonus fun events, and an opportunity to compete to explore Indianapolis through the Xtern Passport program.
Xtern also includes 10 week of free housing located at IU Indianapolis. Housing dates are from Saturday, May 23 th to Saturday, August 1st, 2026. You must relocate to Indianapolis for the duration of the summer to be eligible for this internship position and the Xtern program.

Primary Projects
Implement social media strategy to engage the 2026 Xtern class, employer stakeholders, and larger tech community in collaboration with marketing & engagement team
Create new and update talent marketing materials
Assist with development and execution of a variety of email marketing campaigns and website updates
What you will do
Conduct market research to understand motivations, needs and preferences of student/employer audiences using multiple data sources spread across systems and present the findings
Craft compelling narratives and content that engages target audiences, including the Xtern experience
Create mixed media across written, visual and digital formats
Create and implement a monthly content calendar for Instagram focused on photo & video content
Update Talent Marketing Materials (Presentation Slides, Social Graphics, Email Graphics) as needed
What you will need
Passion for identifying, creating, and crafting compelling stories through the use of data and engaging a social audience
Creativity in developing multimedia content (videos, infographics, social media)
Basic knowledge of design principles, color theory, typography and layout
Design software experience (Canva/Adobe)
