
Catering Event Lead - DC. MD & VA

The Event Lead is responsible for executing the service vision of the event as designed and sold by the Event Designer. This role oversees all front of house event staff and serves as the primary service authority onsite. As a member of the event leadership team, the Event Lead brings the event to life through strong leadership, communication, and service execution. Success in this role requires arriving on time and in proper attire for every event, bringing positive energy and professionalism to each shift, and consistently delivering exceptional service with a friendly, guest focused demeanor.
This position requires reliable transportation to off premise and on-site catering events throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Virginia, and Maryland. Candidates must have the ability to travel to and from event locations as needed. The catering production center is located in District Heights Maryland. This is a great opportunity for those looking to earn additional income as part of our growing catering and event staff. This is a pick up and on call position, events may occur weekends, nights and daytime hours throughout the week, making this perfect for flexible scheduling.
Starting Pay: $35/hr
WHAT OUR EVENT LEAD DOES:
Oversee and coordinate all aspects of events onsite, including setup, execution, and breakdown
Ensure that all event staff are given direction/clarity on their role and assignment at the event, have the proper training, and adhere to company standards
Manage and supervise the front of house event team, including servers, bartenders, and support staff • Collaborate and coordinate with the event chef/back of house lead culinary team to ensure timely and efficient food production and delivery
Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing guest concerns and resolving any issues that may arise
Collaborate with the Event Designer on the service plan and set up to ensure client expectations are exceeded and special needs are taken care of
Serve as the primary point of contact for the client at events when the Event Designer is not present
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all events • All other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AN EVENT LEAD:
Previous experience in catering operations in a leadership or supervisory role; at least 2 years
ServSafe certification preferred
Knowledge of bartending and beverage service
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests, staff, and management; bilingual is preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
Capable of continuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and use of hands and arms
Ability to lift and carry trays, equipment, or supplies as needed
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday
