Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, and Sheriff's Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district. The Position

This position performs a variety of advanced level, complex technical tasks and customer service to assigned department/division of the Sheriff's Office. This job classification is assigned with specific duties requiring an advanced skill set, experience level, and department knowledge. General responsibilities include advanced word processing, document preparation, report writing, data tracking, research and analysis, customer service, and managing several ongoing projects and tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications

Minimum age of 21. High school diploma or GED and three years specialized training and experience in the clerical and/or administrative field or any satisfactory combination of experience and training. Three (3) years specialized training and experience in the clerical and/or administrative field or, Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable. Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon. Special Requirements: Incumbent is required to use the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), and/or the state Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS), they must pass a thorough background investigation and must obtain and maintain appropriate certifications and clearance levels within 30 days of hire. Recertification bi-annually. Desired Qualifications

Working knowledge of criminal and civil legal terminology and law enforcement processes and procedures. Working experience in the criminal justice field and/or two-year degree in criminal justice or related field. Knowledge of specific PC word processing software utilized by the county and previous experience in an administrative position with a county department is desirable. Experience in records management, legal documentation, criminal justice administration, or related field preferred. Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish. To Apply
