As the SDE, you will lead our fundraising efforts focused on planned giving, including the cultivation of bequests, endowments, and complex deferred gift arrangements. This role requires a deep understanding of gift planning strategies and industry benchmarks, alongside a strong ability to manage relationships with high-net-worth donors. You will oversee major gift programs and ensure ongoing donor engagement and stewardship. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and a substantial background in fundraising, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial position. A proven track record in securing deferred gifts, exceptional leadership skills, and savvy relationship management are crucial. Strong writing and analytical skills, as well as experience with donor database systems, will be essential for your success in this role. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced academic qualifications, fundraising certifications, and experience in educational fundraising environments. In your role as SDE, you will play a critical part in educating the Division of Advancement and Alumni while closely collaborating with academic and university leaders on gift and estate planning matters.
