The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Regional Philanthropy Officer to support the Central & Southern Ohio Region. The ideal candidate will be based in the Cincinnati / Dayton market.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are looking for a Regional Philanthropy Officer who will meet fundraising goals and objectives and connect with our donors to serve our mission. In this role, you will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective regional corporate donors to expand their financial support for the American Red Cross. The incumbent is responsible for managing corporate donor relationships in our Greater Cincinnati Tri-State and Miami Valley Chapters. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD
Implement engagement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate donors at the \$10,000 to \$100,000 level and above, with an emphasis on maximizing revenue for the American Red Cross. Develop effective partnerships to assist corporations in achieving goals including brand awareness and employee engagement. Manage an assigned corporate donor portfolio to form deep relationships and achieve a personal annual revenue target of approximately \$1.25 million. In addition to prominent local and national corporations, the assigned portfolio includes a select group of individuals and other donors. Work with the regional fundraising team to develop and execute strategies to ensure donor retention and contributed revenue growth. Work collaboratively with other departments and fundraising staff to create customized solicitation strategies matching the objectives of the organization and the interests of the donor/prospect. Solicit assigned donor portfolios through face-to-face visits and virtual meetings, including preparation of personalized materials. Maintain donor records within the database management tool (Salesforce). Assist donors in creating meaning in their lives by giving to the American Red Cross. This position is a blend of work-from-home, office, and in-person meetings with donors. Participate in disaster relief fundraising projects, community engagement, and administrative tasks as instructed by the supervisor. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree is highly desirable. Experience: Minimum 5 years of sales and/or fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Proven experience in developing strategies for donor retention growth and recapture and proven success with complex fundraising efforts. Skills & Abilities: Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of office systems (MS Office) and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com). Ability to work on a team within a collaborative environment and ensure the highest customer service orientation. A current valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Travel: Frequent travel within the Region required. The amount will vary depending upon size and geography of the region. WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE
