Specific Duties include:

The incumbent reviews submitted documentation including VA forms, resolving data discrepancies, to make eligibility determinations, and issue Certificates of Eligibility.\nReviews the underwriting of loan applications submitted to VA for guaranty in-order to ensure lender compliance with VA underwriting guidelines and regulations such as fees and charges.\nAnswers incoming calls and personally handles inquiries, through personal or written contacts, to guide, counsel, and instruct program participants on aspects of the VA Home Loan program, while ensuring prompt and courteous service.\nRecommends approval or disapproval of restoration of entitlement, release of liability and substitution of entitlement applications; and audits releases or assumptions processed and approved by lenders, requesting additional documentation as necessary.\nMaintains records and controls in compliance with established procedures; prepares reports and quality control reviews and performs all functions relative to the maintenance of lender files. To include lender monitoring, underwriter approvals, and review of supervised/non-supervised lender applications.\nUnderwrites complex loan applications; by analyzing the financial capacity of joint mortgagors, marginal loan applicants, Veterans who receive pensions, income based on operations of business firms, multi-family housing rentals, or unstable incomes.\nCollects, researches, analyzes, interprets, retrieves, and inputs data for/from a variety of computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Salesforce applications.\nConducts training and outreach with individual lenders throughout assigned areas to survey operations and meet with underwriters, processors, loan originators, and loan closers/shippers to ensure they are complying with laws, regulations, and all VA Home Loan program directives.\nCompletes post guaranty loan reviews and based on findings from the review, notifies mortgage lenders of technical errors, any actions necessary for correction, and makes recommendations of specific training needs.\nProvides preliminary recommendation for Funding Fee refunds by researching computer systems and the Funding Fee Payment System (FFPS).\nMaintains section registers, logs, feeder information, and other systems of records needed for quality control and reports. Establishes and maintains a diary system to ensure all required actions are completed in a timely manner.\nResolves problems, which occur with coding of loans into Loan Production computer systems while protecting data from unauthorized release, loss, alteration, or deletion.

Overview

The Mortgage Loan Processor is a senior clerical position in the Mortgage Division. This position will be responsible for gathering financial data and credit information used in the credit decision process. This position will also be responsible for preparing loan documents for underwriting; monitoring and following strict deadlines; handling confidential information; and preparing all entries to book loans. This position will ensure that each loan file is prepared and ready for loan closing.\nRENASANT BANK IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER\nResponsibilities

Process files from opening through closing of each loan. Take ownership of loan files once received from mortgage loan officer. Be primary contact for all parties involved in the process of the mortgage loan

Assemble all loan documents necessary to meet the underwriting guidelines for the particular loan program in process. Obtain the necessary documents from the customer to meet Automated Underwriting System findings\nReview all documents for accuracy and completeness and determine the documentation necessary to be included in mortgage loan file\nCheck Vendor screen for completeness\nAnalyze borrower(s) Federal Tax returns (if applicable) to determine qualifying income. Complete FNMA Form 1084 Self Employed Cash Flow Analysis for loan files with tax returns\nIf responsible for ordering appraisals-title and hazard insurance, track the order and status of ordered appraisals-title and hazard insurance\nMaintain compliance of Good Faith Estimate, Truth-in-Lending, and all other Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) disclosures\nReview documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with initial truth-in-lending guidelines. Notify Mortgage Banker of changes to loan file needing Changed Circumstance and re-disclosure\nResponsible for conferring with borrowers concerning questions, procedures, necessary information and forms completion, and loan status\nCommunicate, in writing and verbally, with various parties to the mortgage loan process\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nQualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required\nMinimum of 2 years job related experience\nAbility to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Word and Excel\nWorking knowledge of loan documentation and bank terminology\nBasic knowledge of Accounting\nAbility to deal tactfully and effectively with customers as well as fellow employees\nKnowledge of all necessary computer applications\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
